Margaret River was the favourite of the judges at this year’s four major wine shows – Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Canberra. The West Australian region picked up 13 trophies with its neighbour Yallingup winning another three.
Wines from the Barossa won eight trophies (10 if you include include the Eden Valley), Tasmania eight and McLaren Vale seven. All six of the trophies awarded to Hunter Valley wineries were for Semillons
